DA productions is an independent theatre company founded in London in 2025. Established with a clear international outlook and the ambition to bring artistic creation together with social impact, the company operates primarily between the UK and Italy, developing projects shaped by the dialogue between different cultural, linguistic and creative contexts.
The company brings together artists from diverse backgrounds and training, and focuses primarily on the development and production of contemporary theatre. Its work supports creative processes grounded in collaboration, artistic rigour and the pursuit of an authentic stage language. In this sense, DA productions positions itself as a space for both research and production, open to the exchange of ideas, skills and perspectives across a wide range of artistic and professional experiences.
Alongside its production work, DA productions also aims to operate as a cultural organisation that is mindful of its role within the wider social landscape. Over time, the company seeks to develop projects that connect artistic practice with responsibility and shared participation. Each initiative is guided by the belief that theatre can be not only a place of artistic expression, but also a powerful medium for dialogue and community engagement.
In this spirit, our partnerships with APIC – Associazione Pazienti Italiani Colangiocarcinoma, supporting research into rare cancers, and Step Into The Sun Project, which supports people with disabilities through cultural initiatives, mark the first steps of a long-term vision centred on social impact, inclusivity and international exchange.
Andrea Sainati
Founder of
DA productions
My name is Andrea Sainati, founder and artistic director of DA productions.
I began working in theatre ten years ago, and my artistic journey has taken me to live and work in a variety of places, including Tuscany, Rome, Paris, Vienna, and eventually Bristol and London. After years of training and research across Europe, I felt the need to create a space of my own — a place capable of bringing together these experiences within a coherent vision. A thread connecting the different stages of my journey. A cultural bridge between the two countries that have shaped my life: my country of origin, Italy, and my adopted home, the United Kingdom, where I have now been based since 2020.
I moved to the UK after five years in Rome, and since then my life has changed profoundly. I have had the privilege of studying at prestigious institutions such as the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and East 15 Acting School in London, and of working alongside inspiring professionals in the performing arts. Yet the creation of DA productions was not simply the result of an artistic journey…
The wonderful woman you see in the photograph above is Denise — the love of my life, and the main reason this project exists. Sadly, she passed away in May 2024 after a serious illness. Needless to say, her loss reshaped every aspect of my life.
Denise was not only the partner I loved deeply, but also a dear friend, a remarkably talented colleague, and a lasting influence on my personal and professional life. After this painful turning point, I felt the need to create something that could continue to honour her — something that might keep her spirit and her values alive.
She believed in a theatre capable of connecting people, creating community and generating meaning beyond the stage. That vision now lies at the heart of our company. DA productions was born from this desire: the wish to transform a personal experience into a shared commitment, and to create a space where artistic excellence, responsibility and remembrance can coexist — guided by the values that defined our radiant Denise.
Every project we develop will carry this ambition: artistic excellence, international exchange, the professional growth of artists and a meaningful contribution to the wider community. It is a journey that I, together with a group of close collaborators and friends, will pursue with courage in the name of Denise Adamo.
It is therefore with great joy that I officially welcome you to DA productions.
