At DA productions, theatre is only the starting point. Alongside the creation of high-quality work that engages audiences in a meaningful and authentic way, the company is equally committed to generating measurable social impact, in the spirit of Denise Adamo, whose memory continues to guide this journey.

Among the first organisations we support is APIC – Associazione Pazienti Italiani Colangiocarcinoma, an association Denise came into contact with during her illness. The organisation brings together professionals and volunteers from a range of fields who are dedicated to supporting patients affected by cholangiocarcinoma and their families. Its work focuses on promoting scientific research, organising seminars with medical specialists and sharing essential information for those facing this disease. Although primarily based in Italy, the association’s contribution forms part of a wider international network working towards improved understanding and treatment of this cancer.

Another key initiative is the support of Step Into The Sun Project, a non-profit organisation based in Rome that supports people with disabilities through musical theatre productions. Their philosophy and working model closely align with the principles of our own project, as all proceeds from their productions are entirely donated to charitable causes. In this way, artistic production becomes not only a form of entertainment but also an act of social responsibility.

Alongside these partnerships, DA productions also intends to develop cultural hubs dedicated to training, artistic exchange and the sharing of the core values that underpin the project. These spaces will be conceived as environments for dialogue and collaboration, extending the reach of our work beyond the purely performative dimension.

Beginning in the summer of 2026, the company will launch a series of intensive acting workshops in Tuscany, led by internationally recognised practitioners. The initiative has a dual aim: to encourage the exchange of skills and ideas between countries, and to make high-level artistic training more accessible in regions where such opportunities are less widely available.

Each workshop, lasting one week, will be open to a limited number of participants selected exclusively on merit through a careful evaluation process. Working with small groups reflects our commitment to maintaining a high standard of learning, based on direct mentorship and a focused, professional and supportive working environment.

The first two workshops will be led by Barbara Houseman — a world-renowned director and voice coach with over forty-five years of experience — and Lawrence Carmichael, an actor, performer, movement director and Stage Combat & Intimacy Coordinator with twenty-five years of experience across theatre, film and television.

This dual training programme represents a natural extension of the company’s operational model. On the one hand, it reflects a commitment to long-term sustainability through the diversification of activities and revenue streams. On the other, it seeks to strengthen the cultural bridge between the UK and Italy, encouraging the exchange of professional excellence and the development of high-level artistic practices within the Italian context.

Through these initiatives, DA productions aims to establish a strong cultural presence capable of generating responsible and lasting social impact, always guided by the values embodied by Denise Adamo — values that today form the ethical foundation of the project.
